Timeline

I have learnt lots of different type of time line, time line does not have to be a line with dates on it. I learnt the different techniques to create a time line. Having looked at artists such as Ward Shelley, Jeremy Deller and Frank Miller, i learnt that a time line can be a form of expressing feelings too and it does not always have to be a 2D thing, it could be 3D. e.g architectural time line.
Time line could also be a structure, time can form some sort of structure and can be meaningful to the artist/designer - interlinking structure.

Having seen the artists work and types of time line, i was interested in the more physical and architectural feel.

the idea was the building a tower. So the beginning memory would be at the bottom which is the foundation of the building and gradually as time goes by the tower is getting built so the earliest memory would be at the top.

The building symbolises and represents my thoughts and memory. The foundation of a building is something that people don't see, we only see the actual building. However the foundation is a very important part of the tower, this symbolises my inside feelings which my memory took me back. The actual tower which other people see will represent how people see me as a person.

Mind mapping in the beginning to recall back my memory in order to design my tower.

I liked the idea of the notice board time line, the old stuff always gets buried by the new and slowly become less visible, I did this to my tower too, newer memories are beginning to bury old ones, and this can symbolise a new start and forgot the unhappy past.

*AFTERNOON CRIT
Other student said that the memories written on the tower can have different sizes, so maybe more meaningful memories can be bigger. - so working with scale. Also the colours, i could have exaggerated the colours more to make particular memories stand out and less chance to get buried.
