Day 1 evaluation

After the first day, i have experienced different types of media. for example soft pastel, watercolour, pens and markers, pencils etc. I have also looked at scale and composition of the objects, sometimes the scale can be unbalanced which can create an abstracted look.
I mostly enjoyed mixed media drawings, i found it best suited my style and had a successful impact on the work. however I feel i lack tightness eg tonal drawing, my tonal drawing is not as good and i can aim to improve this skill.
In this task i have learnt the importance of scale and composition, that the scale can be exaggerated to create a different feel to the work. I have also learnt composition in terms of foreground and background, and by using composition we can show a link between the objects.
i found using pencil and accurate tight drawing challenging as this was not my style, it is not expressive. I found it difficult to recognise the dark and light shading of an object therefore the tonal drawing was rather poor.
next time i can try using a light to create the shadows and shading more extreme in order to make it easier to spot the difference, this could help me find the light and dark on the objects.
