Day 2 VandA visit

PIETARI POSTI  media - digital print from original digitally drown artwork
This grabbed my attention because of the accuracy and the cleanness of the work. The work seem to be  neat and messy at the same time, there are heavy strokes contrasting with thinner ones. I like how the illustration are very definite yet there are abstracted elements.
In terms of colours, i enjoy how the red contrasts with the whole drawing and stands out the most, the black thick lines creates a definite image for us. The pale blue colour contrasts and reflects off the darker marker very nicely, with the different shades of blue too its creates a more 3 Dimensional feel too.

GEORGE BUTLER  media - digital print from original artwork in watercolour
I like how this painting is simple, clean and connects to the reader immediately. the fact that the children are on the tank in the foreground creates a dramatic effect as it shows the danger in the place.
The artist may have kept the colours simple and rather pale to show the place to be a less developed country. although the colours are simple and plain, the illustration shows clearly what is happening.

MEMORY PALACE
the exhibition was from a narrator's point of view of the London which is wiped off by a disease or a storm, the narrator tries to remember the past as the memory was lost in the future.

Oded Ezer
i think this artist is trying to symbolise how would we communicate if words are forgotten or damaged. How will humans behave if language if forgotten and we all forgotten how to use our voice.

Johnny Kelly
i found his app "if you only can keep one memory what would it be" a good starting point for illustrations. it is a very interesting subject and quite unusual. It challenges our brain and our thoughts to answer that question.
