Fashion and Textiles Day 3

Today I had a very good experience of what fashion and textiles are like.
Today I made my final piece, i decided to make a upper body piece. After experimenting different kinds of materials and ways how paper can be manipulated, I developed the idea of straight edges and sharp finish. One of the things i learnt to improve is my accuracy and tightness of work - I tried to do this in this final piece.

An overview of my final piece. Used card board and white board to create depth and shadow on the piece. Also using a black paper to contrast with the white on the figure to try and bring out character and exaggerated shadows.

In this final piece i tried refining and tightening up my work, i produced a neater and more meaningful piece. The piece is organised to be dripping down one side more than the other giving it a bit of uniqueness. In terms of scale the shapes appeared to be bigger got gradually smaller as it went down. I did this because our body shape also gradually gets thinner, we are always wider at the top and body alignments gets narrower. The shape are sharp, angular and striking creating a dramatic effect I tried to do this as this is unusual and very 3dimention for a piece of clothing because i wanted it to stand out from the crowd.
